Identity

UNU-IIST Center for Electronic Governance is an international Center of Excellence on research and practice in Electronic Governance, part of United Nations University - International Institute for Software Technology, located in Macao, China.

Aim

The aim of the Center is to build capacity and provide know-how and advice in planning, implementing and evaluating programs for Electronic Governance. The Center works in partnership with institutions from developing countries, other centers of excellence as well as international and UN organizations.

Objectives

The Center conducts research, dissemination and various forms of development - software development, good practice development, human capacity development, institutional development and development of communities of practice. More

Highlight

Mr. Amirzai Sangin, Minister for Communication and Information Technology, Islamic Republic of Afghanistan (MCIT), and Mr. Aimal Marian, Director General ICT at MCIT, meeting with UNU lecturers prior to the UNeGov.net events in Kabul in July 2008.
