The Royal Scientific Society (RSS) of Jordan, the Jordan Innovation Centre for Engineers and Industrial Enterprises at the Royal Scientific Society (JIC) and the United Nations University- Maastricht Economic and social Research and training center on Innovation and Technology (UNU-MERIT), Netherlands organized the training course.

The objectives of this course were to learn about the design of innovation policies especially in developing countries and about the evaluation of the effectiveness of these policy instruments using science, technology and innovation indicators of both conventional and non-conventional varieties. The programme was structured into two modules; module one deals with policy design issues, while module two offers lectures on issues and techniques related to the monitoring and evaluation of innovation policies.
